You know that feeling you get when someone you cherish is about to open a present you just KNOW they are going to love? Deep down, you know that their response will be one of the greatest and most meaningful gifts you could ever receive in return.
That's the feeling I am trying to contain right now, because we're preparing to unleash some of our most exciting promotions ever. This January 24 - 27 at the Craft & Hobby Show, we are taking the concept of "being free" (with your Slice and with your creativity) to a whole new level.
We hope you will join us either in person at the Show - if your career permits - or online during our live blogging event, where we'll finally be able to share with you the products, promotions and other surprises we have in store for you. (Oh, and of course, we'll be hosting some pretty big giveaways throughout that event, too. In fact, we *MAY* just be giving away a Slice one of these days!)
Make sure to watch our blog throughout the rest of December and into early January for updates on the big reveal. Until then, we wish all of you the most joyous of holiday seasons, and send our most sincere wishes for a healthy and Happy New Year!

Project Spotlight : Last-Minute Cards to Take Your Breath Away
Even though just ten days remain until Christmas, you still have plenty of time to create clever, handmade cards that will stand out among the sea of pre-printed greetings. With a little help from our Slice, we crafted this simply elegant card in a matter of minutes. Simply use two different papers from a coordinated line (such as our Misteltoe collection) and die-cut a Christmas tree pattern in four graduating sizes. Layer them in alternate patterns, using dimensional adhesive to add depth, and then top it off with a square sticker and the top portion of a Glitter leaf to create the tree's star. This design is easily adaptable using any number of shapes such as stars, snowflakes, stockings, or other holiday themed designs to fit your mood.

Spotlight On: Customer Videos
Do you have a fabulous Slice project that you just know other crafters would love? Then consider taking a page out of Jennifer McGuire's book! Jennifer, a designer for TwoPeasinaBucket.com, pulled out her handy camcorder and created a video demonstrating how to make the most of scrap cardstock by using the Slice to create beautiful, three-dimensional Christmas ornaments.
Check out Jennifer's delightful project here. And if you find yourself inspired, please send us your own video by loading it to YouTube and then sending us a link at jweston@makingmemories.com. (Notice, too - if you don't think you want to "BE" on camera, you can borrow Jennifer's technique and show just your hands working on the project as you narrate the steps.) C'mon, let us see your work! And perhaps we could put you in the Spotlight next month!
